Rules and Prohibited Items

For a parcel to clear customs and air transport without delays, it is important to know what may be enclosed and what is prohibited. Below are the main rules and the list of prohibited items.

Main rules

  • A customs declaration CN23 with a full inventory of the contents is completed for every parcel.
  • State the specific names of the items, their quantity and value — no generic wording.
  • Items prohibited for air transport are not accepted for shipment.

Prohibited in air parcels

The lists may differ by destination country, but as a rule the following are not accepted for airmail:

  • Alcoholic beverages; perishable food.
  • Money, credit and debit cards, passports, jewellery and watches, bullion.
  • Weapons, weapon replicas, ammunition, knives; pepper sprays.
  • Narcotic substances; radioactive and infectious materials.
  • Batteries, magnets; aerosols, cylinders of compressed air and gas, helium.
  • Flammables: diesel, fuel and petrol, paint, turpentine, solvents, glues, matches, fire extinguishers, fireworks.
  • Car airbags, seat belts; camping stoves; dry ice.
  • Bleach and chlorine, insecticides, nail polish, perfumes and aftershaves, thermometers.
  • Animals and products of animal origin, body parts, laboratory and medical samples.
